MyCave began from the experience of a cluttered bedroom. Surrounded by piled objects and textiles, the space felt chaotic yet strangely protective, resembling a small cave formed by everyday life.

The pattern translates this feeling into a visual language. Folded fabrics and stacked forms were simplified into geometric compositions, creating an ordered surface that retains the sense of enclosure and comfort. The wallpaper turns the room into a quiet shelter, where visual repetition produces calm rather than decoration.

[Winner of Coordonné wallpaper design competition, showcased at Decorex London 2023]

About the project

The design was developed through hand drawing using tempera and pastel techniques on paper. The drawings were scanned and digitally reworked to construct a seamless repeating pattern suitable for large-scale mural wallpaper.

The process combined manual mark-making with digital editing, allowing irregular hand-drawn textures to be organised into a continuous surface. The final wallpaper is intended as an immersive interior background, where pattern defines atmosphere across an entire wall rather than functioning as a small decorative element.
